AN historic pub in the centre of St Austell is being given an updated look.

Earlier this year, the Queens Head Inn on North Street and Market Street successfully applied for advertisement and listed building consent for new signage.

At the time, Mark Evans Planning, on behalf of the pub, told Cornwall Council planning department that the “current signage and advertisements are tired and in need of maintenance and refreshment”.

The three-storey pub, which has been Grade II listed since 1974, sits within a conservation area.

The pub’s plans for a revamp received no objections from St Austell Town Council.
