A GROUP dedicated to supporting families with children when a parent or caregiver has a terminal illness, hosted a heartwarming Valentine’s-themed workshop in Newquay.

The Gunners Kids CIC organised various activities at the Newquay Family Hub, which brought joy and connection during what can be a challenging time.

The fully funded workshop marked the first of many initiatives designed to help families create lasting memories together.

Gunners Kids CIC has an exciting calendar of upcoming events, including an equine and forest school-based activity day at the Hugs Foundation in Bodmin on February 18 and an informative session paired with a karate workshop in St Blazey on March 23.

In addition to workshops and events, the organisation provides tailored support boxes to children, offering resources to help them navigate anticipatory grief when facing the illness of a loved one.

Tamsin Chapman-Gunner, the co-founder and director of the Gunners Kids CIC, said: “It was a lovely morning, and it was great to see both the children and adults enjoying the activities.

“There was a lot of creativity on display, and some truly wonderful pieces were created.”
