SIXTH form students from Helston Community College celebrated some outstanding exam results yesterday.

The group have excelled with a near perfect 100 per cent pass rate. Over half of the students achieved one or more of the top grades (A/A* or equivalent) and the vast majority of students applying to university have secured their first choice place. The year 12 Construction students also performed exceptionally well, passing the BTEC Level 2 Construction Diploma after one year of study.

Alex Lingard, the College’s headteacher said: “We are very proud of our students’ achievements. They have worked exceptionally hard and deserve their success. It has been another great year of results. May I take this opportunity to thank each of them for their dedication and thank all the staff who have supported them so well – a wonderful team effort!”

Year 13 students are moving on to a diverse range of higher education courses, employment, further vocational training and apprenticeships. This year sees over 40 students bound for university, with students progressing into a wide range of fields.
