The Green and Clean of Camborne group braved heavy rain to take part in their first official litter pick of 2023.
The team collected 35 bags of litter, a bed side cabinet, bicycle wheels, a car wheel trim, two trolleys and other items.
The areas they cleaned up included the tramway from Roskear Road to North Roskear Road, the footpath between Beacon and Pengegon, Pengegon Park, the pedestrian bridge at Foundry Road, and streets around Barripper, Penponds, Beacon, Pengegon, some areas near Tesco and the pond on the mining trail at Tuckingmill.
Chairman of the group Paul White said: “Thanks to everyone who helped out. Given the size of the area we covered since the last official litter pick back in October it was better than I expected. I think this is due to the efforts of individual members of the group who have adopted specific areas and keep the streets as clean and tidy as they can.
“I will always try my best to find ways of cleaning up our town along with my volunteers.
“I know we shouldn’t have to do this but sadly that’s the way it is.
“They all do a fabulous job and are a credit to Camborne. It is amazing that we have people who are willing to give up their time to help tidy their town.”
