EIGHT days of celebrations for St Dennis Carnival Week culminated with the ‘Grand Carnival’ on Saturday, July 13.
There were activities for all ages taking place in venues around the village during the week, including a children’s football tournament, drag queen competition, bingo, quiz, treasure hunt, The Food Face Off, Interpub, euchre tournament, pig racing and a concert by the St Dennis Ukelele Band.
Many people lined up along the route of the Grand Carnival to enjoy the many and varied entries. The parade was led by the ‘The King of the Carnival’ Derek Savage who has headed the carnival for many years.
As a finale to the week St Dennis Band held their traditional short concert in front of the War Memorial Institute ending with the emotional ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
A spokesperson added: “Many thanks must go to the hard working carnival committee for a successful and fun filled week.”
