Cornwall Cricket Board (CCB) will host the Duchy’s first LGBTQ+ cricket event at the Cornwall Cricket Centre, Truro College, on Friday, November 8, with a glow-in-the-dark twist.
Players will be equipped with fluorescent bats, balls and other accessories, creating a visually stunning experience that combines the excitement of cricket with the dazzling appeal of neon lights.
The indoor event is open to all players, regardless of experience or skill level, and aims to provide a safe, inclusive space where participants can enjoy the game in a supportive and welcoming environment.
The free National Lottery-funded event aims to celebrate inclusivity, diversity and the love for the sport within the LGBTQ+ community, and will kickstart Cornwall Cricket's ongoing LGBTQ+ events calendar.
CCB managing director Joe Skinner added: “Glow-in-the-dark cricket started in Cornwall a few years ago and every time we have done this people have absolutely loved it as an experience.
“Whether you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or you would like to show your support as an ally, please come along.”
