A trio of Sailfin Dragons enjoyed a special treat to celebrate their second birthday at Newquay’s aquarium.
The Sailfin Dragon triplets at Blue Reef Aquarium tucked into a banquet of berries, a favourite snack for these fortunate lizards, served by the dedicated aquarists who care for them.
With two successful years under their scaly belts, the Sailfin Dragon triplets have captivated visitors of the Aquarium. Named after the three dragons from Game Of Thrones, these creatures have made themselves quite at home in the Tropical Rivers exhibit at Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay.
Abby Wheston, the senior Aquarist at Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay, said: "This birthday celebration is great fun for our team! It’s also a reflection of our commitment to the well-being and enrichment of all our residents too.
"The Sailfin Dragon triplets have become beloved creatures for us here.
Visitors have had the unique opportunity to learn about Sailfin Dragons and their natural habitat as part of Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay's ongoing commitment to education and conservation.
The celebration served as a reminder of the importance of protecting these fascinating creatures and their ecosystems.
