FIREFIGHTERS were scrambled after a blaze broke out at a residential property in Newquay.

Two appliances from Newquay Community Fire Station attended the incident at Hawkins Road on Monday, October 7 at 12.15pm.

The crew arrived to find smoke issuing from a first floor flat. Two firefighters entered the building and extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
