Truro Half-Marathon took place on Sunday in fine weather conditions, drawing 466 competitors from across Cornwall, into Devon and beyond.
The route led south out of Truro via the Newham Trail, down towards Calennick, Playing Place and Trelissick before looping back via Cowlands, with an especially challenging climb.
First across the finish line with a time of 1:22:34 was Sam Goodchild of Cornwall Athletic Club, followed by Liam Rowe (1:22:36) and Peter Watson (1:22:42) of Falmouth Running Club. All were registered in the Male Under 35 category.
Nayana Jain (Female Under 35) was the first woman to finish with a time of 1:30:45, followed by Emily Harrison (1:31:29, Female 35-39) and Jodie Gauld (1:35:12, Female Under 35, St Austell Running Club).
The fastest pair from Truro Running Club were Callum Pinch (1:26:57, Male Under 35), and Helen Mitchell (1:47:50) who was running her 19th Truro half-marathon since taking up the challenge in 2004 and came second in her age category (Female 55-59).
Hayle Runners scooped both the male and female team awards, with the home team from Truro Running Club taking second place in the male category and third in the female.
Betty Stogs was in attendance on Lemon Quay, collecting for Children's Hospice South West.
Pete Walker for Truro Running Club said: “The half-marathon is one of Truro's biggest annual events, and this year's was a sell-out. It was a good year for our club, and we're always open to new members and keen to encourage people in the area to get running.”
