Lorde is revealed today as the third and final headliner for this year’s Boardmasters.
New Zealand’s most exciting pop export comes armed with a sizzling cocktail of hits including ‘Royals’, ‘Green Light’ and ‘Solar Power’, as well as major awards wins including the Billboard Music Awards, two BRIT Awards, two Grammy’s, an MTV VMA, and an NME Award to name but a few.
A solo artist of monumental status, her debut album Pure Heroine received widespread critical acclaim as Lorde firmly cemented herself as a global music superstar, and ever since she’s remained unstoppable with mesmerising lyricism and captivating live shows. Lorde will make her Boardmasters debut headlining the main stage alongside Liam Gallagher, a UK festival exclusive, and Florence + The Machine.
Elsewhere on the line-up is special guest and long-time friend of the festival, Ben Howard, while Cypress Hill are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Black Sunday, performing the album in full.
The songstress of the moment, recently celebrating her first #1 single with ‘Escapsim’, RAYE joins the line-up, with Irish vocal powerhouse who recently released his latest studio album Sonder, Dermot Kennedy.
Making a welcome return to Cornish shores, is one of dance music’s most sought after producers SG Lewis who joins the bill for 2023, along with Leeds rockers Yard Act who released their debut album The Overload in 2022 and Confidence Man who will have fans on their feet from start to finish delivering a splash of summer dance goodness.
Manchester eclectic art-rock four-piece Everything Everything will be bringing the heat to Boardmasters, plus The Reytons who’ve recently rocketed to chart-topping success with their independently released debut album What's Rock And Roll?, Bear’s Den bringing anthemic festival sounds and rap and production duo rooted in hip-hop, garage and electro, Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn.
Pop powerhouse Dylan is added to the huge Boardmasters line-up, set to deliver her self-penned sing-along hits including ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ and ‘You’re Not Harry Styles’.
Also making up today’s announcement, online sensation piri, the loud, unapologetic trailblazing rock/punk/rap duo Nova Twins, ‘Rockstar Sea Shanty’ hitmakers Lottery Winners and the man behind viral track ‘To the Moon’, Sam Tompkins.
Hot on the heels of a massive Printworks show and recent collab with slowthai, and one of the hottest rappers to emerge in 2022 - Shygirl joins Boardmasters 2023, along with genre-defying, empowering electro duo Sofi Tukker, the legendary summertime DJ Jazzy Jeff, singer Cian Ducrot whose latest single ‘I’ll Be Waiting’ is making waves on BBC Radio 1 right now, and supporting Christine & Queens at BBC 6Music festival and also headed for Boardmasters, Lava La Rue. Plus, there’ll be performances from dazzling singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin, and bringing the shimmering, catchy vocal, it’s Joesef.
One of the most exciting names in the house music world, Ben Helmsley is another big addition to the Boardmasters bill, along with “best band on the planet” according to BBC 6Music’s Marc Riley, Warmduscher.
Festivalgoers will be spoiled for choice with wellness activities at Zennor Haven, delicious local produce at the Cornish Market, a vast array of tasty street food, shopping at The Boulevard slow fashion village, get involved in Beach Cleans with Surfers Against Sewage, tons of tasty street food, the UK’s biggest silent disco, Boutique Camping, Family fun and much more.
A Boardmasters mainstay, The Keg & Pastonbury returns with lively music performances and rip roaring comedy, while The Big Wheel makes a comeback having become a firm favourite and boasting incredible birds-eye views over the stunning Cornish coast.
Festivalgoers can get involved in a yoga class, massages, tarot readings, film screenings and tons more.
The World Surf League returns to Cornish shores and the Boardmasters open is going ahead.
Steeped in heritage since 1981, festival-goers can head to Fistral Beach in Newquay to watch some of the most progressive and exciting names in international pro surfing crowned as the next Boardmasters champions, across five exhilarating days.
Competitions include the Boardmasters OPEN men’s and women’s division and the Boardmasters Longboard Pro men’s and women’s division.
Plus festivalgoers can also witness the new generation of groms showcasing their talent in the Boardmasters Junior open boys and girls division.
