An events company has applied for planning permission to hold a festival-style event for NHS workers at a site in St Agnes.
Skybar, which describes itself as a “pop-up beach club” is seeking permission to hold the 72-hour events on land at New Downs, St Agnes.
In a planning statement Blue Sky Events explain: “Skybar is a high-end pop-up beach club which goes around the South West. Our age demographic is 25-65 year olds.
“We have been asked by the NHS to put on a festival type event for all NHS workers in Cornwall.
“Our event will be hosted mainly with stretch tent marquees, we take six days to set our event up and we are live for two-three days then take all equipment away within two days after the event, with the field being litter picked and handed back to the farmer in its original state.”
As well as a marquee the application explains there will be four food stalls along with “high-end trailer toilets” which will provide 15 toilets for women, and a urinal trailer and six toilets for men. There will also be three disabled access toilets.
The application states: “We have run The Skybar event successfully and without any complaints for eight years at the proposed site. We have the marquee and site erected for a short amount of time possible because we have come from a previous event and must take the whole Skybar down and move onto the next location the following weekend.”
