A heritage fashion brand based in Indian Queens has made the cut for a national award.
Celtic & Co has been shortlisted in the Drapers Conscious Fashion Awards for the best circular fashion initiative.
The awards celebrate responsible business, recognising the progress that the industry is making in reducing its impact on the environment and improving working conditions for people throughout the supply chain.
Celtic & Co has been shortlisted for its campaign titled Giving new life to knitwear, which features projects that help to reduce post-production waste and prolong the life of garments. These initiatives include recycled Geelong fingerless gloves; recycled cashmere and merino knitwear; and its in-house resole, repair, recycle and resale service – Celtic Relived.
Zoe Bray, Celtic & Co managing director, said: “Since we began in 1990, we have been crafting natural products which are designed to last a lifetime. We look to encourage consumers to reduce mass consumption and waste through buying quality over quantity, and to repair items rather than replace.
“Through working together with our trusted suppliers, we continuously strive to evolve our commitment to natural fibres beyond virgin materials, seeking innovative fibres which not only make our collections unique, but also reduce waste within the fashion industry and support a circular economy.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Hilton London Bankside on Wednesday, March 12.
