A farmer has applied for planning permission to allow for part of his land to be used as a campsite during the summer months.
Mr Brewer wants to use the site at St Merryn as a campsite between May 15 and September 1.
The application explains that the site is on a working farm which is used for cattle and sheep.
Under the plans the farmer is seeking temporary permission for compost toilets and other facilities.
A design and access statement says that the land has previously been used as a campsite under permitted development rights but the new application is seeking permission for it to be used annually.
The site would be used by up to 40 tents and campervans and campers would use existing agricultural tracks to access the site. There would be four compost toilets and three shower huts which would be timber clad.
The statement adds: “The proposal provides a stable mix of economic, social and environmental benefits which include farm-diversified income helping support land and livestock management aims, supports visitor spend locally, promotes off grid camping experience for social wellbeing and enhances the visitor offer in the area, protects and preserves the land for its agricultural use long term, encourages visitor appreciation of the valued countryside and coast and promotes the benefits of exploring the great outdoors for general health and wellbeing.”
