National drug and alcohol recovery charity, WithYou, have worked with Cornwall Council to expand an initiative, empowering local people in drug and alcohol treatment to continue with their recovery journeys.

The Life Skills team, can offer support in a one-to-one or group setting, run sessions from Truro, Penzance and Liskeard.

WithYou in Cornwall’s Life Skills team, which was expanded following funding from Cornwall Council earlier this year, works with more than 300 people living across the county who are experiencing drug or alcohol challenges.

Alongside providing advice across specialist areas like benefits, debt and housing, the Life Skills team run a number of drop-in groups across Cornwall to give people in drug and alcohol recovery the confidence they need to begin and continue with their recovery journeys. 

One group, The Fabulous Flamingos, meet in Penzance and Truro each week and will expand over the next year.
