TWO action-packed Saturday afternoons of street entertainment will once again be a major feature of this year’s St Ives September Festival.

An exciting line-up of new and returning performers will launch the Festival on Saturday, September 14, with a second “Super Saturday” on September 21.

Kelvin Hopkins, a festival director and organiser of the street entertainment programme, said: “We are very grateful to Aspects Holidays for continuing their sponsorship of the Festival's Saturday street entertainment for a third year.

“Their support enables us to provide local people and visitors with a wider variety of performers and make the first two Festival Saturdays even better and more enjoyable with two afternoons of great music and fun.”

Making their September Festival debuts on the opening day will be Boudica with their unique mix of music and morris, Samba Cambada, the Redruth Festival Band and Tatters Morris along with St Ives acts The Islanders and the Petty Criminals.

They will be joined by several Festival favourites from previous years including contact juggler Tree Stewart, who will once again be performing with Antoni Krygier and his barrel organ, St Ives shanty singers Cork an Barbor and keyboard ace and singer Joe Duke.

The following Saturday Samba Kernow, Pensans Morris, Hevva Cornish Dancers and Hayle’s Ukuhayles all return to the St Ives street with Festival debutants Stuns’ls Shanty, the Red Apple Honeys – and a couple of surprises still being arranged.
