The Museum of Cornish Life in Helston is hosting a family fun day with a range of free activities on Saturday, September 21.

Activities on the day include:

· Poster Pop Up: The fun craft activity inspired by the museum poster collection where visitors will be experimenting with a variety of print materials and colours. All materials supplied and suitable for all ages.

· LEGO® Learning System: Working with James Scott from NCI Technologies, visitors can construct a lego creature then learn basic coding and make it move.

· One Blue Eye: Matthew Nott, the man behind One Blue Eye, shreds plastic into granulated form and moulds it to create items. Visitors can have a go at the hand crank shredder and help to make something new out of discarded waste.

· Helston as it was, is now and how it might be: A craft activity inspired by shop signs in Helston. Visitors can have fun re-designing the town centre with their own shops and businesses, using shop signs for inspiration.

The event is part of Helston Makes It, a week-long annual celebration of makers and craft on September 21-28. This year, the festival celebrates the trades and crafts on display in the museum’s Meat Market.
