LUXMURALIS, a company who specialise in immersive fine art, light and sound installations, will be venturing to Truro to give visitors a thrilling, immersive experience in 2025.

Space by Luxmuralis is coming to Truro Cathedral for one week, between January 13 to 17, which will be taking place in the evenings.

Space is an immersive visual and audio spectacular experience allowing viewers to go on a journey through space and time. Visitors can walk amongst the stars against the incredible backdrop of the architecture of Truro Cathedral. The artwork asks visitors to look out into space and think about what humans have achieved in their place in the world.

Each evening installations will be projected throughout the entire space transforming the look and feel of the cathedral. The artwork will cascade through the building, encouraging visitors to reflect on our connection to Earth within the universe, while music fills the cathedral, invigorating the senses. The average experience time is 40 minutes.

The successful Space showing has already been to some of the biggest cathedrals in the country including Worcester, Exeter, Bristol and Durham.

Speaking after the announcement that the show would be coming to Truro, Peter Walker, artistic director for Luxmuralis, said: “We are delighted to be bringing Space to Truro. Having lived in Cornwall for many years, and knowing the city and the Cathedral so well it will be wonderful to bring this installation to the county and to present something quite unique in a place that means so much to us.

“As you wander through the magnificent architecture of the cathedral we will take you on an artistic journey to the edge of the universe and back, and experience the interior as never seen before.”

Chief operating officer at Truro Cathedral, Sean O’Neill, said: “The thing I look forward to most about events here is meeting people who have never visited us before! I’m sure Luxmuralis will be the same, offering those who may never have stepped inside the cathedral a reason to do so.

“We all have places we’ve never been on our doorsteps; we’re just waiting for the right invitation to visit. So, in the spirit of that invitation, I hope that you all come and see Luxmuralis during its time here on its first visit to Truro Cathedral!”
