The Acorn in Penzance are to treat visitors to an evening of some of the best rock music from two of the best decades on Friday, August 16 from 8pm when Valkurie Skyz and Push will be performing.

The best decades in question saw 1980’s dominated by rock, hair metal, glam metal and the 1990’s turn on the grunge, industrial rock and alternative rock music.

Valkyrie Skyz are a five piece 80’s hair metal/rock covers band based in Cornwall. They aim transport audiences back to the crazy days of the sunset strip where some of the best bands on the planet were formed, with their selection of music from the great decade of the 80’s with punchy riffs and high vocals.

Valkyrie Skyz play the songs others don’t, from Motley Crue to Poison, Guns and Roses, Whitesnake, Vanhalen, Judas Priest, Europe and many others. They not only play the music but they dress the part too. With big hair and tight spandex trousers, their performance is everything and they deliver every time.

Playing on the same night is Push, a female fronted, four piece live band playing ’90’s and ’00’s alternative rock covers. They are performing a fresh, punchy show which has been very well received by live music enthusiasts.

With carefully chosen sets, tight performances, top quality musicianship and strong female vocals, they are a force to be reckoned with and with popularity growing, it looks like they are only just at the beginning of something pretty special.

The high-energy band are equally suited to a raucous pub, wedding or man stage festival, the band aim to keep you entertained for the duration of their varied set on the night.
