Various events are taking place at National Trust site Penrose, Helston this spring.

Penrose features woodland tracks, stretches of coastline and open parkland. Here is what’s happening at Penrose in the coming months:

Friends of Poldhu Beach Cleans

First Friday of the month, 9am to 10am

Visiting Poldhu beach to help keep it clean for people and wildlife.

Free. Booking not required.

Knights of the Round Table Quest at The Penrose Stables

April 5 to 27, 10am to 5pm

Discovering the legend of Loe Pool and King Arthur’s magical sword, Excalibur. Explore Penrose on this outdoor trail, and complete the Quest to find Excalibur. Join Havulv, a Cornish group of historic reenactors, on the weekend of April 12 to 13 to really get into the spirit of the era.

Penrose Bat Walk

May 20, 8.30pm to 10pm

Visit the Penrose Stables for a short talk about the Bats of Penrose and Cornwall, followed by a dusk walk to detect what species of bats are out and about. Led by Cornwall Bat Group.

Penrose Social and Family Walks

Weekly walks, starting at various times and starting points. Check website for details.

The walks are led by volunteer Walk Leaders and offer the opportunity for anybody to join us for some fresh air and time in nature. Everyone is welcome, of all abilities and experience.

Penrose Monthly Activity Sheets

Daily, 10am to 4pm

Visit Penrose Stables to pick up monthly activity sheet, to explore Penrose with. From nature poetry, designing a dragon, mindfulness exercises and nature spotter sheets, there will be something to keep everyone entertained for each visit.
