EMERGENCY services managed to talk a man away from a cliff edge at East Pentire Headland in the early hours of Friday. (October 18)

The police, Newquay and Padstow search and rescue teams, Newquay RNLI lifeboats and the ambulance service attended the incident at about 1.30am.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called a following reports of a man on the cliff edge at Pentire Point.

“Police, ambulance and other emergency services attended the scene and spoke with the man.

“The man engaged with the emergency services and was taken by ambulance to Royal Cornwall Hospital.”

A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “All assets were stood down once the incident was resolved.”
