Emergency services were scrambled to help a casualty at Watergate Beach on CXhristmas Day.

Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with a man who had injured himself walking at the North End of the beach at about 10am.

Members helped the casualty off of the beach and to their own transport prior to an onward journey to hospital. 

The team were treated to coffee at the Watergate Bay Hotel afterwards and bumped into Santa.
