Cliff Road in Newquay is currently closed while South West Water carry out emergency repair work.

The work is a permanent fix to the hole that appeared during Boardmasters on Thursday, August 8. Only temporary repairs were carried out on that day and so new roadworks needed to be completed in the near future.

However, there have been concerns raised by locals surrounding the lack of notice about the works taking place, as well as a timescale for when the repairs will be finished.

Motorists are encouraged to search for alternative routes as work on one of Newquay’s busiest roads is carried out. Go Cornwall Buses have announced that some of their services are being diverted and buses will not serve The Great Western Hotel and Burger King stops.

The Voice has contacted South West Water for more details on when the work will be completed.
