AN Elizabethan manor house near Newquay is staging alfresco entertainment this summer.

The National Trust’s Trerice will be hosting a band, choir and theatre in its garden.

Trerice Volunteer Choir will be performing a selection of songs from the 1950s in celebration of the era when the National Trust started caring for Trerice. Performances will take place on June 30, July 3 and 9 from 2pm, and July 14 from 11.30am on the front lawn.

St Agnes Silver Band will take to the parade ground on June 23 and July 14 at 1.30pm. The music events do not need to be prebooked and are free to National Trust members.

Cornish based Miracle Theatre will perform their production of Love Riot on July 17 at 6.30pm. The classic rom-com promises an evening of entertainment and laughter for all ages.

Vic Hurry, the visitor experience officer at Trerice, said: “We’re really excited to kick off the summer with some fantastic musical entertainment, and to see the return of Miracle Theatre to Trerice.

“As well as providing a great afternoon or evening out in the beautiful surrounds of Trerice - these events give visitors a chance to enjoy the property after hours.”
