‘Eco warriors’ have been hindering work to concrete a cliff at Whipsiderry Beach on Monday.
The builders on the beach had to stop work after a group of four women stood near to where they were smashing boulders with a digger.
Fencing has been erected around the work area but the builders were concerned the protestor’s proximity posed a health and safety risk.
The Duchy of Cornwall has given a developer permission to work within a section of the beach whilst the company carries out the cliff stabilisation works.
The concrete reinforcement in the cliff is needed ahead of seven luxury villas being built on the clifftop above on the site of the former Paradise Cove Hotel.
Campaigners have been fighting the scheme for years due to concerns the development would ruin the natural beauty of the coastline.
We'll have a full report in Wednesday's print edition of the Voice.
