A SMALL group of worshippers gathered at the historic Gwennap Pit at daybreak on Easter Day for a service led by the Rev Mo Lawson-Wills.
The sacrament of communion was administered by the Rev Mo and the Rev Jonathan Froggatt.
A part of the Cornwall and West Devon World Mining Heritage Site, Gwennap Pit was the favourite outdoor preaching place of Methodist founder John Wesley.
Following the service the gathering enjoyed tea, coffee and pastries in the Visitor Centre.
Meanwhile, an Easter Day worship took place at Stithians Methodist Church was led by the Rev Andrew Mumford.

Colin Trebilcock read the Lenten prayer and there were two Bible readings: Tom Rowse read from Isaiah and Janet Gluyas from the Gospel of John.
Joining the Stithians congregation were friends from Ponsanooth and visitors from Somerset, the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates.
The final hymn was sung outdoors when flowers were arranged on a wooden cross.Following the service the gathering enjoyed tea, coffee and biscuits in the downstairs hall.
On Sunday, April 27, Stithians Methodist Church will be celebrating Chapel Anniversary and Gift Day with a special service at 10.45am led by the Rev Jonathan Froggatt.
