A serial driving menace was tasered by police after he rammed two patrol cars.
Matthew Bradfield, of High Street, St Austell, was spotted on CCTV driving a stolen Ford Ranger around the town last Wednesday.
Two police cars - one unmarked - blocked him in but the 49-year-old began ramming both vehicles.
Bodmin magistrates court heard how one officer then stood on the boot of his car and smashed Bradfield's windscreen to get him to stop. The taser was used as the Ranger drove off as officers feared for their safety.
Bradfield and another man were arrested at the scene in East Hill. However the passenger, a man in his 50s from St Columb, near Newquay, was later released under investigation.
Prosecutor Chris Rendell confirmed Bradfield was arrested and tested at twice the drink-drive limit. He was also a banned driver. He caused around £5,000 worth of damage.
The court heard Bradfield admit dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drink-driving and criminal damage.
The magistrates heard he has a long history of driving offences including dangerous driving, drunk-driving and aggravated vehicle taking.
He was remanded in custody and was sent to Truro Crown Court for sentencing next month.
