ST AUSTELL photographer Paul Williams has captured the dramatic change in the view within the space of a few weeks at a demolition site in the town.

Paul has supplied the Voice with two aerial photographs of the former Cornwall Council offices at Penwinnick Road.

The photographer, who has diversified into using a drone to take images, took the pictures at the start and towards the end of the demolition work.

Contractor DSW has knocked down the premises in preparation for the development of 180 homes on the site.

The land, next to Pondhu School, St Austell Town Council offices and Cornwall Council Children's Centre, will be developed by Treveth, the building firm mostly owned by Cornwall Council.

Treveth owns the site along with the grade II listed Pondhu House and Stables, the former stable block being home to the town council. The site has numerous mature trees.

Cornwall Council was successful in securing Homes England brownfield grant funding to demolish and remediate the site, with Treveth managing the process.

Treveth’s commercial portfolio spans industrial development, urban regeneration and mixed-use development schemes including the £160-million Pydar regeneration project in Truro and the Langarth Garden Village on the outskirts of the city.
