Meanwhile, on July 14, a charity off-road cycle ride will be taking place in St Austell to raise funds for local charities.

The Cornish Alpine Cycle Challenge, which is supported by the Rotary Club of St Austell Bay, consists of three routes - 12, 25, 50 miles - around the clay trails of mid-Cornwall.

The ride is one of the most challenging non-competitive off-road cycling experiences the South West has to offer. Since the inaugural challenge took place in 2021, over £15,000 has been raised for local charities and good causes.
