A detached cottage with sea views near Penzance sold for £100,000 above its freehold guide at auction.
The two-bedroom property, Pentrew, was listed at £150,000 plus but fetched £250,100 when the gavel fell. It is in Levant Road, in the village of Trewellard between Pendeen and St Just.
Pentrew was among 165 lots listed in the latest auction being held by Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.
Senior Auction Appraiser Katie Semmens said: “This delightful and well-presented cottage drew keen bidding at auction.
“It sits on a decent sized plot with well-maintained gardens, off-road parking and a detached garage as well as stunning views.
“It has been used as a successful holiday let over the past years and the new owner may wish to continue to use it as such.
“Alternatively, it would make a lovely family home and there is also potential for extension or development, subject to all necessary consents.”
Pentrew was auctioned in arrangement with Andrew Exelby Estate Agents of St Just.
Bidding at the next auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers, is live from September 16, concluding 48 hours later. The deadline for lot entries is August 27, with the catalogue live on August 31.
