A cyder producer and attraction near Newquay has been recognised as one of the 50 most exciting businesses in the South West.

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm has been included in a list compiled by Insider, the UK’s most successful regional B2B media company, which showcases the initiative, ingenuity and innovation of companies across the region.

It celebrates the strength and diversity of regional businesses that have shown resilience and outstanding performance across various sectors, including food and beverage, technology, and construction.

Founded in 1980 by David and Kay Healey, Healeys Cyder Farm has grown from a small family venture into one of Cornwall’s most iconic beverage producers.

The farm has flourished, becoming a major player in the Cornish beverage market and a popular tourist destination, attracting 100,000 visitors annually.

The business’s inclusion among the South West’s top 50 reflects its significant contributions not only as a producer of quality cyder but also as a driver of local tourism and economic growth.

The farm employs 250 staff, demonstrating its role as a vital source of local employment.

Its latest achievement, the opening of a £5-million production facility in 2023, marks a major step forward, boosting production capabilities and enhancing its ability to meet growing demand.
