CRANTOCK Methodist Church is staging events to mark its 152nd anniversary.

A gift day where coffee, cake and a quiz are being organised will be held on Saturday, May 18, between 10.30am and noon.

The anniversary weekend will continue with a special service led by Reverend Simon Clarke on Sunday, May 19, at 10am.

Marion Caldwell from Crantock Methodist Church, said: “Do come and join us for a happy weekend.”

The new Crantock Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1872 and the choir gallery was added in 1890.

Services were held in Joseph Prater’s kitchen at Halwyn until the building of the first chapel in 1827.
