CORNWALL is set to make a significant impact at Europe’s largest mining event, Resourcing Tomorrow, which takes place on December 3-5 in London.
Cornwall’s rich mining heritage and cutting-edge innovation will be showcased at the dedicated Cornwall Pavilion. Two Cornwall MPs, Perran Moon, MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle, and Noah Law, MP for St Austell & Newquay, will be attending and underscoring the region’s emerging significance in the mining sector.
Their show of support highlights Cornwall’s resolve to showcase its mining capabilities and resource potential to key industry stakeholders.
Europe’s premier natural resources conference brings together influential figures from across the global mining sector, including government representatives, leaders from major industries reliant on minerals and metals including electric vehicle manufacturers, and the financial institutions driving investment in mining projects.
Recognised by the Department for Business and Trade for its ‘High Potential Opportunity in Mining,’ Cornwall is abundant in resources including lithium, tin, and tungsten. Combined with its rich mining history and highly skilled workforce, the region is primed to supply critical minerals essential for the UK’s clean energy transition.
The Cornwall Pavilion at Resourcing Tomorrow, co-sponsored by Cornwall Trade and Investment and the Cornwall Mining Alliance, will host leading local companies, including Cornish Tin Limited, Imerys, British Lithium Limited, Cornish Lithium Plc, Cornish Metals Inc, Cornwall Resources Limited, and Tungsten West Plc.
Perran Moon, MP for Camborne, Redruth, and Hayle, said: “Cornwall has always been a cornerstone of mining in the UK, and our participation in Resourcing Tomorrow demonstrates the region's importance in delivering the critical minerals needed for technologies of the future, as well as commitment to engage with stakeholders.”
Noah Law, MP for St Austell & Newquay, added: “From lithium for electric vehicle batteries to minerals for cutting-edge applications, Cornwall’s mining sector has an incredible story to tell. The Cornwall Pavilion will highlight our innovative projects and commitment to sustainability.”
The Cornwall Pavilion not only celebrates the region’s mining legacy but also emphasises its role in meeting the challenges of modern resource demands, from decarbonisation to the circular economy.
