A golf club is seeking permission to replace caravans with new holiday accommodation.

Perranporth Golf Club wants to replace eight holiday caravans with seven new vans and two holiday lodges.

In a design and access statement the club explains: “The holiday accommodation is an important part of the club’s overall financial strategy. The existing caravans are reaching the end of their useful life and need to be replaced with more modern accommodation. The lodges have proved extremely successful and popular with both golfing and non-golfing tourists.

“The club is looking to invest in new accommodation to improve its offer to tourists with the ambition to increase the revenue and profit generated from the accommodation.”

Under the plans the club’s laundry and service building will also be extended as the current building is “significantly undersized to cope with the number of units and laundry demands”.
