THE founder of a group that encourages people to connect with nature has undertaken a beach clean on the south coast of Cornwall.

Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, who is also the chair of Connect with Nature, cleared litter and other rubbish from West Portholland Beach, to the west of Dodman Point.

Rowena carried out the beach clean in support of the Million Mile Clean for Surfers Against Sewage.

Meanwhile, beach cleans organised by the National Trust will be continuing over the festive period at Hemmick Beach which is on the same stretch of coastline.

These beach cleans will take place on December 7 and January 4 between 10am and 11am.
