A community garden in Newquay is staging its annual event on Saturday (June 22) to bring people together.

Crantock Street Community Garden will be staging a Big Lunch between noon and 3pm. There will be live music from local band Bow River.

People are invited to bring along food to share and there will be paella on offer from Fore Street Café. There will also be a raffle as well as face painting.

Anna Jay, who is helping to organise the event, said: “We are excited that the Big Lunch event at Crantock Street Community Garden is back.

“The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours and communities, with millions of people coming together for a few hours of food, friendship, and fun.

“It connects people and encourages friendlier, safer communities where people start to share more – conversations, ideas, skills, resources and friendship.

“This year, our Newquay event will be even bigger and better and we would love people to join us.”
