COMMEMORATION events are being held to mark Remembrance Sunday in Newquay.

A Poppy Appeal Concert will be held at St Michael’s Church on Friday, November 8, at 7pm, which is being hosted by the Royal British Legion Newquay branch.

St Mawgan Military Wives Choir, Newquay Male Voice Choir, Newquay Band and Newquay Rowing Club Singers and piper Nigel Warmington will be performing at the annual fundraiser.

Payment for tickets will be cash only on the door on the night.

The Remembrance parade through the town centre will be staged on Sunday, November 10, at 10am.

The parade will form up at the car park on Fore Street from 9.30am and will march off at 10am to St Michael’s Church. All groups and organisations are invited to join the parade and spectators are welcome to enjoy the parade and attend the church service.

Wreaths will be re-laid at the Newquay War Memorial in Dane Road following the church service.

Project 83 in Wesley’s Yard will be open for pre-parade refreshments from 8am and for post-parade refreshments after the church service. 

The RBL Newquay branch will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the Newquay War Memorial on Monday, November at from 10.45am. All are welcome to attend and lay wreaths.
