MORE than £850 has been raised for the Action For Children charity through a coffee and cake morning held in St Austell.

The event was staged at St John’s with Trinity Methodist Church in the centre of the town.

A total of £426.20 was raised at the event and this was then matched by Lloyds Bank.

The morning featured homemade cakes, a variety of stalls selling plants, bags, books, homemade crafts and bric-a-brac, a raffle, and a quiz.

A charity representative thanked those attending for their generous gifts and donations.

Action For Children provides practical and emotional care and support for children and young people.
