EMERGENCY services were scrambled after a person injured themselves on the coast path between Whipsiderry and Watergate Bay on Monday afternoon.

Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team stretchered the casualty off of the coast path to a waiting ambulance at about 1.30pm.

A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “We were tasked to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with a casualty on the coast path.

“After arriving, the team assisted with packaging the casualty and stretchered them off of the coast path and down to the waiting ambulance.

“We wish them a speedy recovery.

“If you see someone in difficulty on the coast path, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
