Truro Golf Club has completed the most significant refurbishment of its 85-year history, with the clubhouse being relaunched to appeal to the general public.
The refurbishment has seen a complete restyling of the restaurant and bar area to create an airy, contemporary space with a relaxing ambience and a new menu.
The work has been undertaken by Truro-based CAD Architects, interior designer Sara Taylor and main contractor Salmon and Collett.
“Golf clubs often have an air of exclusivity and many people believe they cannot visit unless they are members,” said club captain Mark Dawes.
“We want to challenge this perception head-on. The restaurant and bar at Truro Golf Club are open to all.
“Our vision is to become a top Truro venue for birthday parties, business dining, wedding parties, baby showers, wakes and all other celebrations and special occasions.”
Mr Dawes added: “The golf club is a much-loved local institution and the city views from the clubhouse are stunning - the best to be found from anywhere,”
There is a choice of configurations available for private function room hire, and both bar and restaurant have high-speed WiFi, providing a great location for flexible workers.
“The new facilities have been designed to create a venue which is in tune with the way people live, work and play today,” said club manager Peter Simmons. “You can work online while enjoying a coffee or lunch and taking in the inspiring views.”
Truro Golf Club was established in 1937. It offers an 18-hole, par 67 parkland course which stretches a total of 5,372 yards.
