Firefighters from Tolvaddon Fire Station were called to a chimney fire at a home in Pool last night.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the owner became concerned that smoke was coming from the chimney despite their wood burner not being in use.

The crew used a stirrup pump, chimney rods, a hose reel jet and 13.5m ladder to put out the fire in the chimney.
