A charity helped people get into the festive spirit in Newquay town centre on Christmas Eve ahead of the big day.

The Rotary Club of Newquay staged its annual festivities in Bank Street, which included a ride on the Newquay Land Train with Father Christmas and Dairyland brought along some of its farm animals.

Various games were also organised including Splat the Rat and Don’t Buzz the Wire.

Newquay Band added to the festive atmosphere and visitors were able to hang a Star of Remembrance on the Newquay Rotary Christmas Tree.

Nick Barnes, the president of the Rotary Club of Newquay, said: “Thank you to all those who supported the festive event.

“People were delighted to see the Newquay Land Train, animals from Dairyland Farm Park and Newquay Band.

“It was a brilliant way to enter the festive period and we have raised some money as well.”
