A CHARITY certainly ‘cracked it’ raising funds for good causes to celebrate Easter.

Newquay Towan Bylstra Lions raised more than £800 through its annual giant Easter egg draw.

The special fundraiser involved pubs and food establishments selling raffle tickets for a giant egg on offer in their premises with 50 per cent of the profits going to the charity of their choice and the other half to Towan Blystra Lions for further distribution to good causes locally.

Cornwall Air Ambulance, FLEET and the RNLI were among the causes to benefit ( )

The Headland Hotel, Heron Tennis,Treninnick Tavern, Pheasant Inn, Quintrell Inn, Two Clomes, The Falcon Inn, Travellers Rest, The Farmers Arms and the Griffin Inn were among those raffling off the giant eggs.

Benefactors included Newquay Food Bank, Clare Milne Trust, RNLI, Cornwall Air Ambulance, Quintrell Cricket Club, Merlin Centre, FLEET and the Institute of Cancer Research.

A spokesperson for Towan Bylstra Lions said: “Huge thanks to Lions Danny and Lesley Baize for organising and running this year’s annual Giant Easter Egg draw. A total of over £800 was raised for good causes.”
