CHARITIES are on course for a big pay day after a Newquay organisation raised £5,000 at its annual golf event.
Thirty two teams competed in the Rotary Club of Newquay’s charity golf day at Newquay Golf Club, with thirty teams competing for the Charity Shield.
The money raised will be divided between Cornwall Hospice Care and Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, to support the development of a robotic arm surgery programme in Cornwall.
Rotary president Phil Tickle presented the shield to the winners Newquay Golf Club Greenkeepers.
A Rotary spokesperson said: “It was a great day for a great cause.”
