Carnon Downs Garden Centre, on Quenchwell Road in the village, plans to demolish an existing dilapidated detached storage facility and replace it with a new integrated storage facility below a new retail area, and enlarge its restaurant area. 

There will also be an outside seating area and a covered all-weather external seating area. The existing restaurant area will be extended into the new retail space. 

A modern toilet facility would be built to include a baby-changing area. A new office facility would also be attached for all management personnel and staff. 

A planning statement says: “Carnon Downs Garden Centre is a well-known established thriving business. The expansion of the existing retail spaces will provide the business to further expand and grow.  

“The construction of new modern facilities will only set to improve their visual appearance. The proposed development will not have any adverse impact to any surrounding properties.”
