RESIDENTS are being asked to give their views on a plan that will help to shape the future of a beautiful area.

A public survey on the Pentewan Valley Neighbourhood Development Plan is running until November 30.

A spokesperson for Pentewan Valley Parish Council said: “The neighbourhood development plan is a real opportunity to get the views of the residents of the Pentewan Valley parish recognised by the planning system. It is our chance to help shape the future of the valley and the local environment we value.

“Our group of councillors, local residents and a highly-experienced planning consultant have been working on the Pentewan Valley Neighbourhood Development Plan since 2021. We have endeavoured to contact everyone in the parish to seek their advice on various aspects of the parish including development, the character of the Pentewan Valley, tourism, second homes, the design of future developments, heritage and areas of local landscape importance.

“Based on our findings and a great deal of analysis by our consultant, we are working on the production of the plan. If approved by Cornwall Council, this plan must be considered by the planning authorities when planning applications in the parish are considered.

“We have learned an incredible amount about our parish and the hopes and aspirations of those that live here but there is still work to be done.

“We are carrying out a second survey to gather some more detailed information about the views of the parish. This will help ensure that the plan really does reflect the needs and aspirations of the people that live and work in the parish.

“If you live, work or have a business in the Pentewan Valley parish, your views are very important to us.

“People can complete the survey either online at https://app.gocollaborate.co.uk/ cornwall/pentewan-valley-ndp or with a paper copy available by calling 01726 823978 or emailing [email protected]

“You can read more about the plan on the Pentewan Valley parish website, www.pentewanvalleypc.co.uk.”

As part of the process, an engagement event was taking place at St Austell Rugby Club on Thursday, October 24, between 3pm and 5.30pm.
