A Camborne business group is asking people to vote for their favourite project it has brought to fruition to mark the scheme’s 12th anniversary.

BID Camborne’s activities to boost commercial enterprise in the town have included introducing a shopper’s loyalty card and organising annual events like Christmas in Camborne, Fun Fridays, Tykes on Trikes, Independents’ Weekend and, jointly with the town council, Camborne Community and Commerce Awards.

BID has managed the Town Deal Project A-Void scheme which has awarded grants of up to £5,000 each for local business to improve their premises, worked with GWR on unique art installations at the railway station and successfully lobbied against proposed out-of-town developments like Polstrong.

Camborne BID’s most recent project, BID:BIS, is an app-based tool that enables the community to quickly report crime and anti-social behaviour.

BID manager Anna Pascoe said: “We’re now in our third successive five-year term thanks to our members’ support.

“Our directors give up their time freely to help Camborne be a great place to do business and there have been some wonderfully creative schemes in the last 12 years.

“That’s why we thought it would be a fun idea to mark our twelfth year with a public poll on our social media platforms.

“Which projects stand out for you and get your vote? Let us know and, when all votes are counted, we’ll publish the results.”
