Well done to Pippa Mason, a member of the 9th Truro (St George’s) Brownies, who has raised £102.50 for the Friends of Sunny Corner by selling cakes at Shortlanesend School.

As part of her Brownie Gold Award, Pippa had to organise and arrange an event. She invited Friends chairman Paul Caruana to give a presentation on Sunny Corner at a Brownie meeting, followed by a quiz based on his talk.

Having delivered his slide show, Paul was astonished to be presented with a cheque towards the maintenance of Sunny Corner. “Pippa’s kind donation was totally unexpected, but more than welcome,” he said.

“It was lovely to see the good work being done by groups like this one. Run by volunteers, it is a huge commitment to make the lives of seven to 10-year-olds more interesting and enlightening. Long may that last.”
