The owners of the historic hotel ravaged by a fire which forced staff and guests to be evacuated have vowed to restore it to its former glory.
The Grade II listed Pier House Hotel at Charlestown suffered what has been described as "significant" damage in a blaze which was fought by more than 50 firefighters from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.
The damage is still being assessed, but St Austell Brewery chief executive Kevin Georgel has said the firm is "fully committed to bringing the Pier House back to its former glory.”
Local Cornwall Councillor James Mustoe said: "I spoke to the fire service on Saturday morning, as investigations into the cause of the blaze were ongoing, and brewery management who have been clear that they will do whatever it takes to restore the Pier House to its former glory."
"I am sure the wider community of Charlestown and St Austell will join with me in wishing them all the best for this outcome."
