A BRAVE group of travel agents who took part in a skydive in aid of the Cornwall Air Ambulance have raised more than £9,000.

The jump at Perranporth Airfield was organised by Lisa Hawken, the manager of the Newells Travel branch in St Austell.

Newells Travel supports the Cornwall Air Ambulance and Lisa thought doing a skydive would be a good way to raise a significant amount of money.

After completing the skydive, Lisa said: “We had 10 jumpers on the day (one had to drop out due to medical reasons) and our total raised now stands at an incredible £9,392 which is way over our original target.

“The day was such good fun and the Newells Travel team spirit was high. Everyone really supported each other with lots of cheers.

“Seven colleagues absolutely loved it and would do it all over again but three, including myself, think once is enough.

“I am feeling very proud of myself though and have always wanted to tick a skydive off of my list of things to do before I die.

“Annie Hughes, also from the St Austell office, thought it was so amazing she volunteered to dive again! So double the adrenaline.”
