Residents of 600 homes in the Truro area have been advised to boil their water before drinking following an issue in their local treatment works.
South West Water has been posting fliers and texting customers in selected postcodes between Truro and Redruth, including in the villages of Ponsanooth, Carharrack and Frogpool.
A temporary hub has been set up in Mills Hall, Carharrack until 6pm tonight and from 10am to 6pm tomorrow.
A South West Water spokesperson said: “Since Monday night, we have been asking some customers in the Truro area to boil their water before consumption. This is a precautionary measure as we are aware of an issue that took place at our treatment works in Stithians that may temporarily impact water quality. All households impacted by this precautionary measure have been notified and we will keep them updated accordingly."
